Deramaxx

Deramaxx is a (NSAID) Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug, which originates from the COX-2 inhibitor type of drugs. It is very similar to Celebrex, which is a human medication.

Veterinarians prescribe it for dogs suffering from pain and inflammation. It is available as chewable pills and tastes like beef, making it easier for the dog to eat.

Below mentioned are certain features of Deramaxx:

  1. It controls osteoarthritis pain in dogs.

  2. It also is a good drug to control postoperative pain in dogs.

  3. Deramaxx is FDA (Food and Drug Administration)-approved.

  4. A single pill controls pain for an entire day.

  5. Every pill has Deracoxib.

It comes in dosages of 100mg, 75 mg, and 25 mg. Before giving doses to your dog, you need to consult with your dog's veterinarian to check if your dog is allergic to any sulfa-based drugs, such as aspirin, Rimadyl, or SMZ/TMP.

More Details about Deramaxx:

Deramaxx usually works by minimizing substances causing fever, pain, and swelling in the body. The drug effectively diminishes pain linked with a surgery or any dental operations.

Give tablets to the dog under a vet's strict guidance. Talk to the vet about any side effects your dog experiences on its use. Inform the vet if its stomach was upset due to diarrhea or vomiting earlier, if it is pregnant, had any kidney-related disease, allergies or medical problems in the past. Vets need to know if your dog is on any medication, including drugs bought without prescription, and dietary supplements.

Vets are better at deciding the amount and duration of Deramaxx use. This also applies to any decisions regarding the course of medicine. Your dog needs to ingest tablets along with food.

If, on taking the medicine, your dog starts developing symptoms such as pain in the abdomen, nausea, tarry or black stools, fatigue, water retention, itching, skin rash, bleeding or bruising, inform the vet about this immediately. This may prove fatal to your dog, if left untended.

Make sure you do not give these tablets with corticosteroids or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as carprofen, aspirin, prednisone and etodolac that are not part of prescription. The dog may experience side effects.

Likewise, do not allow dogs to eat more than the required dose of Deramaxx, and inform a vet as soon as it happens. Lastly, meet the vet regularly to inform how the dog responds to its use.
