Frontline for Dogs

A dog owner needs to use frontline for dogs for maximum protection against ticks and fleas. It is a non-prescription OTC (Over The Counter) product. Frontline for dogs not only kills 98 to 100 percent of the adult fleas present in the fur coat of the dogs, but it contains a specific ingredient, which kills larvae and flea eggs too. Thus, it kills all stages of fleas.

Benefits of Frontline For Dogs:

By successfully stopping the growth of new fleas, frontline for dogs completely disrupts the flea life cycle. In addition, it kills all the stages of four important ticks such as the American dog tick, brown dog tick and lone star tick, including those that transmit Rocky Mountain spotted fever and Lyme disease.

Fipronil, which is the major element in every frontline brand product, accumulates under a pet dog's skin in the sebaceous glands. Thus, frontline constantly reapplies to the hair and skin of the dog through the hair cavities, making it water resistant.

Frontline for dogs will stay on, and will not wash off even through a dog's monthly swim or bath. Actually, frontline for dogs continues working for an entire month, providing the dog with uninterrupted tick and flea control.

Vets recommend constant treatment throughout the year, even in chilly months, to ensure suitable tick and flea control, and thus reduce any threat of infestation. Frontline for dogs is suited to puppies that are eight weeks or older.

To apply frontline, place the tip of the applicator through the dog's hair, on the skin between the shoulder blades. Apply the contents of the applicator to the dog's skin, at a single spot. A dog owner has to use only applicator per session. This product has to be used only on those puppies and dogs that are 11 to 22 lbs, 23 to 44 lbs, 89 to 132 lbs and 45 to 88 lbs. Avoid reapplying for 30 days.

Use of frontline for dogs may result in a brief irritation at the place of application. If these symptoms persist for more than a few days, check with a vet instantly.

An owner has to apply frontline for dogs only externally. Seek advice from a vet before using this product on medicated, aged, injured, nursing or pregnant dogs. Keep frontline away from open flames and heat, since it is flammable. Store it at room temperature and in the original bottle only.
